Canvas Art Experiences with Heather
People are made of stories, colors, textures, and layers—just like paintings. A working abstract artist who values color and play, I will guide your people to create a painting you’ll proudly hang. Playful, relaxed, surprisingly polished—time together becomes your tangible keepsake.

The Experience
I am a working abstract artist and childhood art educator with a focus on process art. I love meeting each family member and finding out how they will make their unique marks while guiding everyone through an enjoyable process of creating and connection. With my support we will create a timeless keepsake that will forever mark this season of life you are in. I provide everything needed, including a canvas, professional art materials and tools, drop cloths and smocks. And of course, I always have snacks and good music.
The Process
- Join me for a day of art and connection at my home studio in South Charlotte or at The Grove in Myers Park.
- Before your session we will discuss a color palette and any optional starting layers to the canvas —such as a background wash, paint/ink pour, or texture base—for your artwork.
- During your 1-2 hour session, we will add layers of color and texture, allowing space for everyone to find their rhythm together.
Delivery + Framing
After our session I will finish off the canvas by painting the sides (at your request) and seal with a protective archival coating, add hardware for hanging and then personally deliver to your home.
I am happy to arrange and coordinate framing for you as an add-on cost before delivering your special masterpiece.
Booking and Availability
To book, a 50% deposit secures your spot once we select your canvas size. You will receive a short questionnaire and we’ll then find the best weekend for your family.

“We had so much fun creating art with Heather! She guided us through the art making process and introduced us to new techniques and materials, all with sweetness and patience. Now we have this incredible treasure that captures our kids personalities and talents.
