The Screen Family was referred to me by another client and I immediately knew from the first text that this was going to be a special experience. Katherine’s excitement and positivity about this project brought great energy from our first chat.

The Screen Family came to my home studio on a Sunday afternoon. I started out with mark-making like I usually do and I loved seeing how they all had very different ways of making marks, but did it so very together. There are many drawings underneath the final layers that are special to them — like fun secrets that they only know about.

What I have noticed is that every family warms up in their own way and speed. Once G and L were acquainted with the space, materials, and tools they were so open and adventurous in the painting alongside their parents. We eventually had a snack break, and then they were eager to get back into it. We spent a couple hours together, but this sweet family will forever have a piece of my heart.
